About the Role
he 2D Artist creates art while following instructions to support creative production processes. He/She is responsible for producing sketches or artwork, and drawing sketches from different angles.
He/She may have to create concept art to enable the visualisation of characters, environments and backgrounds. He/She may be involved in creating art assets for characters, backgrounds and environments for games and animated films, or visual effects for live-action films. He/She may also need to develop hand-drawn or digital storyboards to enable the visualisation of the flow of a production script and determine the composition of each shot.
He/She works independently to support the creative flow of the team. He/She spends significant time on research and attends team meetings regularly.
He/She should have the creative talent to deliver high quality artwork and is required to work collaboratively to support the creative direction of the team. He/She must possess creative storytelling abilities to create storyboards. He/She should able to plan well to meet deadlines.
Requirements
Certificate, associate's degree, or bachelor's degree in graphic design or a related field.
2D artists in medical illustration must have a working knowledge of biology.
A strong portfolio of previous work and completed projects.
Strong working knowledge of industry-standard software, including 3ds Max, V-Ray, SketchUp, and Maya.
Excellent creativity and artistic skills.
An eye for composition, realism, texture, color, and lighting.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Excellent time management skills.
Willingness to remain up-to-date on the latest creative software and hardware.
